The Good to Die Records roster is well represented at the Capitol Hill Block Party this year, and it is my humble opinion that the following bands should be high on your must see list whether you plan on running between stages or just chillaxin' and drinking yourself silly in the beer garden all weekend long. Here's the official Good to Die CHBP schedule:
Friday, July 20th:
DEADKILL - Neumos Stage @ 4:15pm
Coming off a riotous set at the JAK's reunion in Seattle, DEADKILL is currently red hot and ready for war, just in time for their next live throwdown at Seattle's annual Capitol Hill Block Party. DEADKILL are earning a well-deserved reputation as one of most exciting live bands in the NW and will play Friday, July 20th at 4:15pm on the Neumos Stage alongside Black Breath and others.
DEADKILL has also been busy writing, and have churned out a number of rippin' tunes in the past few weeks including the next-level impressive "Orpheus" and "Shakes" that were premiered at their lively KEXP in-studio this past Saturday. Bottomline is DEADKILL is hungry to impress and just want to slay on each and every opportunity. If you are looking to just flat out rock the fuck out, they will not let you down.
Saturday, July 21st:
ABSOLUTE MONARCHS - Main Stage @ 2:15pm, Live on KEXP @ 5:30pm, Secret VIP show @ 8pm
Saturday should prove to be all about the band that KEXP's mid-day show DJ Cheryl Waters called "incredible" in a recent Seattle Met interview. Slacking is not an option come July 21st as the ABSOLUTE MONARCHS are set to kick start things into high gear at 2:15pm, showcasing standout tracks such as "Attack", "To Hell, Let's Masquerade", and "Thinking Thieves" from their stellar debut full length 1 on the festival's the main stage along side the likes of Grimes, Aesop Rock, and Major Lazer. The Monarchs will also be playing live on KEXP at 5:30pm from the Barboza stage as well as a 3rd performance at a secret location on the festival grounds 8pm. You'll want to keep your eyes and ears open in order to catch these very special performances.
SANDRIDER - Barboza Stage @ 7:15pm
It's no secret that SANDRIDER has taken Seattle's music scene by storm since the much anticipated release of their self-titled debut. Consistently electrifying audiences in venues all over the NW, SANDRIDER has rightfully earned the role as the sonic leaders in Seattle's burgeoning heavy music scene, resulting in direct support slots for heavy hitters Red Fang and Russian Circles over the past few months. SANDRIDER's take no prisoners assault on the eardrums has also earned them high praise from the likes of Decibel Magazine, The Stranger, and KEXP not to mention quite a number of vinyl enthusiasts who have added the beautiful gatefold 12" to their collection since its release on Good to Die Records back in December 2011. DO NOT miss SANDRIDER SLAY the Barboza come 7:30pm Saturday evening, that is if you like loud rock and have a pulse.
