Recently resurrected Seattle favorite Harkonen played a one-off show this past Saturday at Neumos as part of another stellar Infinite 25 bill that also featured Sane Reaction (w/ Kirby from Deadkill), Integrity, and the "Last Show Ever" by 90's Seattle hardcore legends Undertow.
Needless to say it was a fucking crushing set and welcomed reunion, and if you missed it...well, it might be worth the trip to Missoula this summer to see them in action at Total Fest along side Torche and Sandrider, and many others, because who knows when the opportunity will arise again?
I can't help but think about how killer would it be if Harkonen was in their prime as a band right now. I'm certain Harkonen never got their full due while active during the early to mid-2000's. So let's hope for some new music from this band, because the timing is perfect not to mention the trio of Matt Howard (drums), Casey Hardy (Guitar), and Ben Verellen (Bass, Vocals) seemed to be very much relishing in sharing the stage together on Saturday -- tons of energy and they sounded incredible.
Here's a quick video of "Smile Pretty" live at Neumos. The track can be found on the recently re-issued (on vinyl by Brutal Panda Records) Harkonen classic "Shake Harder Boy".
