0 The Best Screaming Trees Tribute Band in the World

This post comes courtesy of my friend Abbey from 107.7 The End and her personal 107.7 The End blog. We both were at the High Dive on Sunday to witness the first show ever by "Black Sun Morning", Seattle's only Screaming Tree's tribute band. I'm glad to say that anchored by drummer Dan Reed, a buddy of mine, they totally pulled it off. The set list was a sweet mixture of stuff from their earlier albums such as Buzz Factory and Uncle Anesthesia, as well as hits from Sweet Oblivion and Dust. In fact they win by default; they’re the ONLY Screaming Trees tribute band in the world. Enter Black Sun Morning- Seattle’s very own beer-drinking, guitar-shredding, grunge-loving cover band. And seriously, who better to devote your music to than one of the most influential yet underrated pioneers of the grunge scene? No, flannel isn’t back in style (so please stop wearing it), but these fellas don’t need it to pull off “Shadow of the Season”, “All I Know”, “Nearly Lost You” and more without a single glitch. If you’re reading this and still have no idea what I’m talking about, chances are you weren’t at the High Dive in Fremont on Sunday night. That’s ok- we’ll give you one more chance to redeem yourself. You can catch Black Sun Morning at the Showbox Market on Friday August 21st. Show up at 8PM, hand the pretty lady $10 and included at no extra cost is our favorite Alice in Chains tribute band- Jar of Flies!
