A full American Fall PELICAN tour has been announced! The tour begins just days before the release of the band's upcoming Southern Lord Records debut “What We All Come to Need”, which comes out on October 27th. A variety of bands will be joining PELICAN on the tour including labelmates BLACK COBRA for most of the dates. The Seattle date for this tour is as follows:
10/24/2009 El Corazon - Seattle, WA w/ Black Cobra, Sweet Cobra
In July 2009 Pelican ventured to Seattle to lay down a new album with Chris Common, who has helmed records for a variety of bands, from Minus the Bear to These Arms Are Snakes. Eight songs were recorded over three weeks at Robert Lange, Red Room Studios, and Elektrokitty. Greg Anderson (Sunn O)))), Aaron Turner (ISIS), Allen Epley (Shiner, Life And Times), as well as Ben Verellen (Helms Alee) guest on the record, and by the sound of the new songs I heard at Neumos back in August “What We All Come to Need” may be Pelican at their most sonic and inspired.
