3 [NEWS] Coachella Lineup Announced

Yesterday at around 8am the official lineup for the 2010 Coachella Festival was announced. The eclectic billing features Jay-Z, Muse, and Gorillaz as headliners but a suppporting cast that includes Faith No More, Them Crooked Vultures, Thom Yorke???, Pavement, Baroness, The Dillinger Escape Plan, DEVO, Yeasayer, and Sunny Day Real Estate is more to my liking. The festival is always heavy on the latest in indie rock fads, and this year is no exception with Grizzly Bear, MGMT, Vampire Weekend, and Phoenix taking up high profile spots on the bill as well.

Coachella always marks the beginning of festival season in the states, setting a tone for what's possibly to come concerning Bonnaroo, Lollapolooza, but more importantly providing a possible sneak peak for our beloved Sasquatch Festival happening of course on Memorial Day Weekend.

Of course personally I would love Sasquatch to be heavy on the rock come the February announcement. The Pavement anouncement is a step in the right direction, and I'm very much hoping for Them Crooked Vultures and Yeasayer to make an appearance as well. It's a long shot I know, but the addition of Faith No More and maybe even Soundgarden to the sure to be local hip-hop heavy 2010 festival would be an amazing compromise.

I guess we'll see?

Who do you want to play Sasquatch this year?

  1. I want to see FNM, Soundgarden, Red Fang, Mastodon, D.R.I., The Spits, The A-Frames, Slayer, De La Soul, a reunited Sepultura, and Ozomatli.

    Is this asking too much?
