0 [SHOW PREVIEW] Kandi Coded's FREE Record Release Party @ Sunset Tavern

Seattle’s own Kandi Coded, a group that features renowned local producer and musician Jack Endino on lead guitars and vocals is celebrating the release of their brand new record “Fell for the Gift” by playing a FREE show tonight at the Sunset Tavern in Ballard.

With the modern day tendency for bands to blend and blur different musical styles sometimes clouding the end result, Kandi Coded comes off surprisingly fresh with a pure and simple guitar, bass, drum attack that is no frills, no gimmicks hard rock. The band returns home from the road as part of the Volcom sponsored Blizzard Bizarre Tour where they opened a string of high profile shows for metal titans High on Fire.

On “Fell for the Gift”, Endino’s huge guitar sound is immediately recognizable and comes across as a natural extension of his early work in the legendary Skin Yard, as well as his most recent solo work on 2005’s Permanent Fatal Error. Jack is ably backed by heavy-handed drummer Johnny Graziadei, bassist Sam McDonald, and Northwest snowboarding legend Jamie Lynn on lead vocals and guitar.

Tonight’s bill also includes stoner rockers Valis (ex-Screaming Trees), as well as a band that everyone should seek now and get their faces cheese graded by-- ASG. Might be a good idea to arrive early because FREE usually means eventual sell out, and don’t forget your friggin’ earplugs.
