Well, the gang has returned from an incredible weekend at MusicFestNW in one piece. It’s safe to say Portland is starting to become our second home and I for one honestly did not want to come back to reality so soon.
On top of catching sets by (subtle gloating) Baroness, Red Fang, Rabbits, Black Lips, Thee Oh Sees, Trash Talk, The Gories, Wow & Flutter, YOB, Toxic Holocaust, Scott Kelly, SLEEP, Tyvek and NoMeansNo -- there was one huge highlight of the weekend.
For months, we have been anxiously speculating and impatiently waiting concerning the what, when, and who will release Red Fang’s highly anticipated sophomore album. It just so happened the Fang gang tipped us off during their set on Thursday, while making subtle hints at big news. They were beaming with excitement and could barely contain themselves. Then it dawned on me Red Fang was sandwiched in between two bands signed to the same amazing label-- it was a perfect fit. Later on that night we got the official big news from both Aaron and John themselves.
Red Fang have officially signed to Relapse Records!
This is beyond awesome!
Congrats to the mighty Red Fang from the SRG crew. We are beyond stoked that you guys found a new home and that the 2nd Red Fang record will finally see the light of day in 2010.
