It’s a sad fact of life that all good things must come to an end. Unfortunately we were reminded of this last Friday, as it marked the end of a two and a half year run for Seattle metal band Requin. With front man Wolfgang moving down to Portland the band was left with no other choice but to hang it up.
Their final show took place at the Ballard Mine as part of the 3 day Carousel Festival. The set consisted of every song they ever made. When they were all done, the band was flooded with hugs, and thanks from everybody there. I only had the chance to catch Requin live twice, but man, oh man do I wish there could have been a third.
The remaining members of Requin have now formed crushing doom metal act Roareth, see them locally on a string of dates in October.
