With their big Relapse Records debut "Murder the Mountains" set for April 12th release, Red Fang announced yesterday that they will be joining two major metal tours in the coming months. The first is the very impressive Metalliance Tour which features HELMET, SAINT VITUS, CROWBAR, KYLESA, RED FANG, HOWL and ATLAS MOTH. Kind of mind boggling, isn't it? The tour rolls through Seattle and hits El Corazon (say it in a mopey tone) on April 1st. Knowing El Corazon's early set times this show could start at 3 in the afternoon so you might want to make arrangements so to not miss the Fang's set. I kid of course.
The other tour is the Summer Rockstar Mayhem Festival (remember the fiasco from last year's fest? -- read Matt's amazing write-up here) which also features some stellar acts like Megadeth, Machine Head, In Flames, Kingdom of Sorrow (the rest aren't worth mentioning). This one has me scratching my head a bit, but I suppose it's a big opportunity for the band. Hopefully the crowd of burnouts will dig what Red Fang has to offer, but knowing the typical Trivium or Disturbed fan, they might have their work cut out for them.The tour hits Auburn on July 12th.
Before the Fang gang hits the big time they will venture to Seattle for a more intimate show on February 19th. Red Fang will be joined by the newly reunited Argonaut and Absolute Monarchs at the Sunset Tavern for the first ever KEXP "Seek and Destroy" showcase hosted by Hannah Levin. Buy tickets here.
