3 Former Alice in Chains Bassist Mike Starr Passed Away
Bummer news today.
Alice in Chains founding member and bassist from 1987-1993 passed away today. Starr played in the band during their peak of fame and on the bulk of AIC's most influential material including the Facelift, Sap, and Dirt records, and is much loved by long time AIC fans. Post-AIC, Starr has had a long history of drug related run-ins with the law. Pretty much all that has been heard from Starr in the years since his departure from AIC has been sporadic news items related to his non-music related shenanigans.
Starr will be forever be remembered as an intregal part of Alice in Chains and Seattle music history.
RIP Mike Starr

Interesting perspective... a "peek" of fame... very metaphorical, even if it might have been a slip.
ReplyDeleteOutsiders perspective for sure. I was but a wee lad when he was in the band. Still a huge fan. Wish I had time to write more.
