0 TONIGHT! Portland's White Orange at Sunset Tavern

Tonight at the Sunset Tavern in beautiful Ballard SRG welcomes much buzzed about Portland stoner psych rock act White Orange. My last run-in with WO came during their first ever Seattle show last 4:20 with Bellingham's Dog Shreddder -- both bands are signed to PDX based label Made in China Records. I have to say that it ended up being some sort of a religious experience. White Orange created massive waves of swirling stonerriffic sound that resonated both "Lullabyes to Paralyze" era Queens of the Stone Age as well as the brilliance of Failure's "Fantastic Planet". Trippy washed out vocals with layers and layers of pummeling guitars, it was quite impressive and so glad they are back in Ballard so soon. White Orange are prepping for the release of their self-titled debut full length on September 11th. I'd expect to hear a ton more about this band in the future, so don't miss them tonight.

Fun Fact:

Bassist Adam Pike is an audio engineer and is the man who twisted the knobs for Red Fang's debut, not to mention records by Black Elk, Diesto, and the White Orange themselves.
