Holy Shit! I just found out that legendary New Orlean’s sludge band EYEHATEGOD is coming to Seattle. It seems singer Mike Williams beat his now infamous herion addiction, and has regrouped the band which still includes drummer Jimmy Bower. EYEHATEGOD is now touring select cities, and El Corazon is the lucky Seattle venue that will host the show December 4th. Also on the bill are home town openers Brothers of the Sonic Cloth, Lesbian and Seattle transplants Samothrace. This is sure to be an epic show as EYEHATEGOD has been on the verge of extinction for some time.
More EYEHATEGOD news comes in the form of a press release I received mentioning the release of their 4th record “Confederacy of Ruined Lives” on vinyl, kick ass!!
EYEHATEGOD's Confederacy Of Ruined Lives
Vinyl Out October 22nd
Vinyl Out October 22nd
New Orleans' EYEHATEGOD have spent the last two decades at odds with a corrupt music industry, using their music as a proverbial middle finger aimed at everything from government officials to sanctimonious shitheads hiding behind organized religion. They have defied all odds and continue to exist and persist despite personal and professional setbacks, from drug addiction to natural disasters. In the midst of all this turmoil EYEHATEGOD have become the high water mark when it comes to "sludge metal," having birthed rock's unholy bastard feasting on the teat that Black Sabbath and Black Flag built. Countless band's have followed in their fetid footsteps and they continue to inspire bands around the world to this very day.
Confederacy Of Ruined Lives is their fourth studio album, released in late 2000. Vinyl-only imprint I'm Better Than Everyone Records is extremely proud and honored to collaborate with EYEHATEGOD on its vinyl release. This extremely special release will be available to the masses on Tuesday, October 22nd and will be available in two versions: The main edition will behand numbered and limited to 400 on thick black vinyl. There will also be an extremely limited edition of 100 hand numbered copies on white vinyl with tan and black splatter. Both editions will be encased in a deluxe triple gatefold! Pre-order options are available now at: http://www.imbetterthaneveryonerecords.com.
