Portland's noiserock beasts BLACK ELK have announced a stream of Autumn tour dates, including a string of West Coast US dates with the The Jesus Lizard. This includes a stop at Neumos on October 22nd, when The Jesus Lizard will return to Seattle to reprise the mayhem that was the Capital Hill Black Party. Before that amazing bill happens Black Elk will help crush skulls at the Comet Tavern on October 10th. This one is in celebration of Tad Doyle's Brothers of the Sonic Cloth and Mico de Noche's split 10" release. This marks the first non-demo recording from BOTSC and I can't fucking wait for this show. Also on the bill is Madraso.
If you haven't seen or heard of Black Elk let me tell you their hybrid of punk and metal is ferocious live. I saw them open for Helms Alee awhile back and they completely floored me. Black Elk is still touring in support of their superb release from last October "Always a Six, Never a Nine", so here's hoping for some super heavy new material to raise our horns too. Check out some videos of the bands mentioned above. \m/
