When Benjamin Thomas-Kennedy sent over his guest SRG.com year end list for posting back in December I personally expected to see a whole bunch of killer metal in the vain of the two excellent metal bands wherein he currently lays down vicious beats. (i.e. Lesbian and The Abodox). As I perused the artists he listed, I realized this guy had quite the eclectic tastes, and to find out some very eclectic musical talent as well. As it happened the artist that caught my ear immediately just so happened to be Ben's own solo project-- Blouse (u.s.a). A polar opposite of anything related to punishing blast beats, instead as Blouse (u.s.a), Ben lays down a vast landscape of ambient electronic and synth compositions that can be summed up as both spacey and idyllic.Tonight Blouse (u.s.a) opens an evening of off the cuff acts (at least for this rock guy) at the Rendezvous' Jewelbox Theater that will hopefully prove to be something completely different at the very least.
