Last night's Hootenanny for Haiti was quite the show. I'll elaborate soon enough but for now just know that it was a really great night and featured so many impressive performances by the all-star group of local musicians. Mike McCready and friends certainly outdid themselves for the great cause, and I'm very glad I was able to participate. Here's a taste and more later:
Mike McCready, Duff McKagen and Jeff Rouse - "River of Deceit" (Mad Season)
Mike McCready and Friends - "Dead Flowers" (Rolling Stones)
Duff McKagen and Friends - "Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory" (Johnny Thunders)
Mark Pickerel and Friends - "Even the Losers" (Tom Petty)
Mike McCready and Friends - "Too Far Gone" (Neil Young)
Was Star Anna's Otis cover not the greatest?? She was so intense. I wish I could relive that part of the show!
ReplyDeleteI agree - Star Anna blew me away. The whole show did, actually. What a great night of fantastic music. I didn't want it to end !!
ReplyDeleteI agree with both of you, Star Anna was quite impressive. Overall I did not expect the show to go as smoothly as it did, let alone contain so many great performances. It was really, really good. Highlights for me: Every song featuring Star Anna or Mark Pickerel, River of Deceit, Crown of Thorns, Wanna Be Your Dog, and of course Kim Warnick's return.
