0 [VIDEO] Green Apple Quick Step Reunion Show @ The Croc (5/20/10)

Words and Videos by Nik Christofferson

The flood of 90's Seattle band reunions continued last night and nostalgia was at an all time high as far as I was concerned. On an evening that featured at the very least 4 awesome local shows, the only one that required my attendance was the reunion of Green Apple Quick Step. The all but forgotten post-grunge Seattle outfit played their 2nd show since frontman Tyler Willman decided it might be fun to play the old stuff again. The band played 9-10 songs,  with 3 coming off GAQS's previosuly unreleased record "New Disaster"; sold at the show in very limited cd-r format.

I spent a lot of time with "Wonderful Virus" and "Reloaded" in my early teens, so it was really great to hear songs like "Dirty Water Ocean" and "Alligator" performed live for the first time. Willman's voice was spot on making the brief set totally gratifying and smiles were a plenty. The crowd chimed in loudly for "Los Vargos" to close the show, which was also very cool.

Which 90's "local" band reunion is next you ask? Well, bring on the Black Happy - August 20th and 21st at The Croc. The soundtrack to so many nights slamming beers in The Coug at WSU.

Here are a couple videos of Ty Willman, Dana Turner and company churning out two of GAQS's best:
