So far we have seen some fine local music compilations released in 2010. Local label Sound vs. Silence released its 2nd comp featuring the likes of Satchel, Shawn Smith, With Friends Like These and hard rockers Virgin, who by the way were magnificent last Saturday at the Capitol Hill Block Party. Also, more recently Crybaby Studios -- a local studio/practice space located on Capitol Hill released an amazing compilation showcasing the bands who currently reside at the space. If you haven't heard up and comers Absolute Monarchs, My Goodness, and Wilildlife then go and seek now. Some really great stuff.
There was one other very notable compilation released this year that aims at promoting some up and comers of its own -- and that is none other than Your Village Sucks! Too. It was made available at the innaugural Algerbay Records, Rocket Queen, and Seattle Rock Guy sponsored Your Village Sucks! Fest back on May 8th. 2010. Shortly following the successful festival the short run limited edition compilation SOLD the fuck OUT!
Your Village Sucks! Too features Smooth Sailing, Vultures2012, Great Falls, Android Hero, Mobile Slaughter Unit, Sex With Strangers, Guilty About Girls, The Fatigues, Manos De Plata, The Keeper, and Suncrusher.
