Here’s a helluva night of music at Neumos.
First, we must talk Boris. Whether you get Boris or BORIS live (and usually it’s a mix of both – that is, the band in full-blown rock form while also donning the experimental lab coats) you know it is going to be a motherfucker of an experience. Fresh off recording an EP with Ian Astbury (of the Cult) called BXI, a highly listenable and brilliant piece of work, Boris once again graces the States with their presence. Expect a wall of Orange amps and your ears ringing for the rest of the week.
Also on the bill is Red Sparowes, giving you a chance to collect yourself post-Helms Alee pummeling and pre-BORIS brain melting. Fans of Pelican, Mono and Isis will be right at home with the textural post-metal of the Red Sparowes. They are one of the few bands that want you to lose yourself in daydreams while they play. Don’t wander too far, though. There will still be volume aplenty.
Rounding out the line up is the ubiquitous Helms Alee, one of the most consistent and underrated bands in Seattle. Expect the usual brain-assault, but word on the street is they’ve been kicking around some new material that is on some serious next-level shit.
Kill your Monday blues with metal!
