1 All Hail Metalween: Bands Wanted for Annual Cover Night!

I am stoked to announce that SRG has officially joined forces with long running local music blog NadaMucho.com to bring you the second annual Metalween show this October. Last year saw screaming covers of classic tunes by Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, the Scorpions and more, but this year we want Metalween to be even bigger, blacker and more metal than last year's event.

Here’s the scoop:

"Maiden, Priest, & Metalween: A classic metal themed Halloween night hosted by Metal Mike (aka Mike Spine)" and happens Friday, October 29 at Cafe Venus / Mars Bar in Eastlake. $8 advance, $10 door. Metal costumes strongly encouraged. Nik from SRG will be on hand, spinning only the best in classic METAL all night long as well.

Right now, we are looking for some kick-ass Seattle bands to play 2-3 songs of their favorite 60's to 90's metal tunes. Please submit a link to your music, along with the bands and songs that you desire to cover to nik@seattlerockguy.com.

Covers and interpretations we are interested in hearing should come from the classic metal/hard rock catalog. Think: Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Van Halen, Scorpions, Dio, Slayer, Metallica, Danzig, and the like. No stupid "Nu-metal" (Korn), crappy 80’s metal (Winger), and so forth. Bands can do these songs in a classic cover format, or if you are bold, try to reinterpret them in your own wicked way.

There will be a shared backline of amplifiers and drums to keep things moving, so bands will just need to bring their instruments to plug in and be ready to rock.
