0 ROY play first show in 3 years at Hell's Kitchen (Video)

The show was only a day and half ago and I’m still feeling fired up. I still can’t believe I saw Roy the other night. In case you aren’t familiar with Roy, they play a killer mix of foot stompin’ blue-collar hard rock and folk. Quite the departure from what people might expect from an all-star lineup of local metal musicians that includes Brian Cook and the Verellen brothers, Dave and Ben. More than anything it seems Roy must have been the result of a need for a change of pace from the nightly chaotic brutality of heavy music.

Cut to a random Saturday in December 2010, they haven’t played in 3 years, haven’t really practiced, but for some reason were roped into the one-off Tacoma gig. Before the show I was under the impression that this would probably be their final show. However before they played their second to last song (Prescription Drugs) Dave walked up to the mic and said they do hope to play more shows. So if you never had them chance to see live hopefully you’ll get another opportunity. It probably won’t be anytime in the near future, but I think there is hope!

In the meantime, here are a few videos from the show in case you weren’t able to make it down to Tacoma, and check out videos of every song played that night on my YouTube page.
