I'm finally getting my first live Ancient Warlocks experience tonight, when the killer new Seattle based stoner rock outfit takes the stage with a couple hard working local heavy rock bands in Antique Scream and Witchburn at the Funhouse. I've had the luxury of owning a copy of their self-produced demo for awhile now, and it's a sweet collection of riff based stoner rock ala bands such as Fun Manchu (listen below), a particular sound that hits me right in my musical taste wheel house, and they do it quite well.
Ancient Warlocks combines the talents of some local players you may know from bands like High Class Wreckage and more recently Mopper. They also have a 7" on the way (artwork above) for their wickedly heavy single "Super Wizard".
I encourage one and all to come check out the action tonight, it's $5 and if you dig music of the stoner rock persuasion, Ancient Warlocks will be sure to show you an excellent time, they play first.
