0 Curse of the North Will Rule This Friday at the Rendezvous!

{2/18 - SRG Presents: Vultures 2012, Diesto, Princess, Curse of the North at Rendezvous, $6}
Curse of the North is easily one of Seattle’s most promising metal/heavy rock acts at the moment not to mention one of my personal favorites. This Friday they take the stage at the Rendezvous as part of the first of two kick ass 4 band bills brought to you by this very blog in February. They will be joined by a stellar crew consisting of Vultures 2012, Portland behemoths Diesto and the magnetizing force known as Princess.

Curse of the North brings a classic yet modern metal sound to the table complete with hooky chorus’ and shredding guitar solos not to mention an energetic live show lead by animated bass player Nick Cates formally of 3 Inches of Blood. Rounding out the bands lineup respectively are Christiaan Morris on guitar and vocals and Patrick Taylor on drums, both former members of The Last Great Liar.

The trio has plans to once again enter the studio to continue work on their debut, and they will be using this show as an opportunity to jam on some of the new tunes that they will be recording at the end of the month.

Curse of the North was recently part of the high profile El Corazon 6th anniversary show that featured EYEHATEGOD, Brothers of the Sonic Cloth, Samothrace, and Owen Hart. They will also be playing on a killer bill with Destruction and Australian blackened thrash masters Destroyer 666 at the end of April -- not too shabby.

Check out the Matt Bayles produced demos below if you haven’t already done so, they are available for FREE download as well. The video of “When the Wind Blows” below was taken at a recent Josephine gig.

Don’t miss Curse of the North this Friday at Rendezvous, they go on at 10:30pm!
