0 FLOOR at the Funhouse Tonight!

Florida doom band FLOOR is in town tonight! Floor is best known these days as the band that preceded Torche, as guitarist/vocalist Steve Brooks founded and lent his talents both bands. During their short existence in the mid-ninties, Floor crushed skulls with their sonically proficient doom metal, but during that time they released very little music. Last year, the band regrouped and toured a bit in support of a massive boxset called "Above and Beyond" containing their entire discography, released on Robotic Empire. The vinyl edition features 10 LP's and goes for around $250.

Joining Floor are the super heavy Totimoshi who were really impressive during multiple local tour stops alongside the Melvins last year. Opening the show is another exciting Portland metal act. Norska features YOB bassist Aaron Rieseberg and brother Dustin, and certainly takes cues from the mighty Eugene bi-product, with their colossal metallic sludge sound. If their self-titled debut EP is any indication of their sonic abilities, Norska should be impressive in a live setting as well.
