The best music festival in the NW (in my humble opinion) is Portland, Oregon's Musicfest NW. Not only is the locale desireable but the people in charge of booking the fest have impeccible taste -- taking chances on genres of music that most festivals only touch upon or disregard all together. Yes, they have the big named indie rock bands "headline" some large scale show in the middle of the city, but while the sheep are baaing at Band of Horses this year, some amazing bands will be blowing minds in various venues around the city.
