Absolute Monarchs began their set on Friday of block party by unveiling one of the killer new songs they've been working on over the past few months. The throng of fans crammed into the dank Cha Cha Lounge for this "Northwest band you need to know" was impressive despite them having to play opposite popular Canadian hardcore act, Fucked Up. The Monarchs played an energetic and boozy set for the packed room, making their 3rd straight inclusion in the festival a major success. Come next year when their debut record is released on Good to Die Records expect a bigger stage, bigger crowds, and even more hype for one of Seattle's finest.
