0 NEWS: Monogamy Party signs with Good to Die Records

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
August 23rd, 2011

Seattle’s own Monogamy Party inks deal with Good to Die Records

Debut 10” EP “Pus City” coming November 2011

Monogamy Party take a bass guitar, complex and heavy drumbeats, and one hell of a pair of lungs and create glorious hardcore/rock somewhere in the neighborhood of two past Northwest greats: These Arms Are Snakes and Karp. -- Grant Brissey (The Stranger)

Good to Die Records is showing no signs of slowing down. They're already geared up to release material by some of Seattle's best heavy rock bands Absolute Monarchs and Sandrider. And now they are ready to drop another sonic bomb on the world with the announcement of their latest signing: MONOGAMY PARTY

Taking inspiration from fellow NW bass-and-drums acts like Big Business and godheadSilo, this trio from Seattle has only been a band for less than two years. But in that time, Monogamy Party has managed to cause all manner of commotions in venues up and down the West Coast. They've been hailed for their "reckless abandon" on Seattle music blog Sound On The Sound, and The Stranger recently said: "They're like These Arms Are Snakes meets Karp meets Black Eyes. They're great."

Live, Monogamy Party is a force of nature. Lead vocalist Kennedy spends more time punishing the audience with his body, as he belts out impassioned stream-of-consciousness rants. Behind him bassist/vocalist Yos-wa and drummer Keith (no last names, please) blast out a powerful, sludgy, punk-inspired attack. It's unrelenting, aggressive, and impossible to ignore.

The band have managed to capture its raw energy in the studio, working with producer Chris Proff (Strong Killings, Mercy Ties, Ravenna Woods) on a debut 10" called “Pus City” to be released this fall on Good to Die. Like their live performances, it is a scintillating slab of controlled chaos. It's a record and a band that demand your attention. Look into the eye of the storm, and hold on for dear life.

Monogamy Party is:

Kennedy - Vocals
Yos-wa - Bass/Vocals
Keith - Drums

About Good To Die Records:
Good to Die Records is the latest venture by Nik Christofferson, the man behind the metal/hard rock blog Seattle Rock Guy. One of the loudest voices in support of the NW music scene, Christofferson has been expanding his influence through the many local shows he helps organize - including the recent Noise for the Needy benefit that featured Akimbo, Wildildlife, Smooth Sailing, Princess, and Vultures 2012 - and spinning metal and punk at local bars and clubs. Through Good to Die, Christofferson will be handpicking the best acts in the NW underground rock scene, with releases both large and small...on vinyl, of course.
