0 TONIGHT! SRG Presents: Mico De Noche, Lord Dying (pdx), Vultures 2012, The Loathsome Couple

Just a couple quick notes about the show and a preview of the killer metal action you'll see at the Comet tonight...

Stoked to have Portland's riffmasters Lord Dying up once again. When it comes to true fucking metal in the NW, Lord Dying are pretty much the pinnacle in my opinion. Their better-than-a-demo, 5 song demo has been a staple in the SRG camp since first hearing about these fellas from Red Fang's John Sherman nearly 2 years ago now. SRG hosted their first ever Seattle show last April at the 2 Bit Saloon, which in retrospect was one hell of a fucking loud show. Here's some footage from that show courtesy of SRG video man Jerry Howard:

Also, here's their demo to stream. You should purchase this now!

Mico De Noche recently sent off their next record for mixing to Mr. Scott Evans, best known as the vocalist and guitarist for San Fran's Kowloon Walled City, who is also a talented engineer in his own right. Very much looking forward to hearing the results.

Pretty stoked that our good buddies Vultures 2012 were able to fill in for Gologothan Sunrise at the last minute. Its been a little while since I've had the pleasure having my head rocked by this mighty foursome, but this one will be a little bitter sweet as it has come to my attention that this is also going to be one of Vultures 2012's final shows. They've been a constant in the Seattle metal underground for a few years now, sad to see them go. You should pick up their crushing debut full length "Bare Your Teeth", only $5 on Bandcamp.

Last but not least, The Loathsome Couple. A few months ago I stopped by the SRG PO Box and opened up an envelope that contained the first release by this sinister new Seattle act. A beautiful package with demonic imagery hand screenprinted by Broken Press, the music contained on CD-R is equally as dark and malignant experimental metal mixing elements of doom, death, and post-metal. It's eerie as fuck and rips in all the right places.Very much looking forward to seeing these guys live for the first time. One of joys of booking shows, if I want to selfishly see a band live that I haven't yet seen, I just make it happen on my own terms.
