Seattle's drone metal pioneers Earth never disappoint this heavy music fan. They played an afternoon set to a packed Neumo's on Saturday, showcasing much their material from last year's Southern Lord records release "The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull". Ever since Dylan Carlson reformed Earth around 2005, Earth sound has mellowed out slightly from the thunderous bottom end of albums such as Earth 2 to a more melodic cleaner, yet still extremely heavy sound. It's an acquired taste and for many Earth might have been a reason to take a late afternoon nap but for the true fans in attendance, Earth took us to a whole other galaxy.
Earth will be playing Seattle again on August 6th @ Neumos with Sunn O))), Pelican, and Eagle Twin!!!!
