To me Sunday was all about one band and one band only, Real Estate. I wasn’t too familiar with anyone else, but Nik told me that whatever I do, make sure to check out Steel Tigers of Death.
The man wasn’t lying.
So there I was standing outside of Neumos listening to the main stage in the distance, waiting for this band Steel Tigers of Death that Nik was raving about. When all the sudden I see four guys in bunny suits walk outside, look around for a bit then walk back in. It was at this pointI I remembered why I listen to Nik when it comes to bands, and I realized that I was in for one hell of a bad ass show.
From the second the band walked on stage until the last second of the last song-- laughter, excitement, and 1000's of camera flashes filled the room. What made it even better was the fact that STOD was actually a killer band-- not just some gimmick.
At the end of the third song, the band dropped their instruments and proceeded to disrobe, playing the remainder of their set wrapped in lights and wearing gold booty shorts. Definitely made for one of the most unique and enjoyable shows I’ve seen to date. Check out the videos to see what you missed.
