0 SHOW PREVIEW: Consulate's Debut at the Comet Tavern

Last year local band My Bones and Organs parted ways with their singer and were basically stuck with a bunch of songs and no one to sing them. With My Bones and Organs' status up in the air, guitarist Jake Weller continued on as trumpet player and guitarist for local math rock outfit Manos De Plata and also contributed to a high profile project in the as-yet to be released brand new Asva record. A record that also features Toby Driver of Kayo Dot fame (for another post all together). During this time bass player James Gardner also continued his role in SRG favorite Warning:Danger! . The fallout of My Bones and Organs didn’t take shape until more recently, when My Bones drummer Tim Strovas, James and Jake reformed as Consulate, with James taking over on vocals.

Consulate is just the most recent project for this trio of musicians who have been playing together for a majority of the last decade in bands such as The Nemesis Theory, the previously mentioned My Bones and Organs, as well as Jake and James were both founding members of Warning:Danger! Seattle really is a small community and the musicians in certain circles are a tight knit group that have not only been playing shows together for years but have also collaborated on many different projects. From the ashes of The Nemesis Theory and My Bones and Organs, now welcome Consulate.

This Saturday Consulate takes the stage for the first time as a trio. The show is a matinee at the Comet Tavern and starts at 4pm. Also on the bill are Into the Storm and Gazebo of Destruction.
