2 TICKET GIVEAWAY: NoMeansNo / Ford Pier / The Ruby Doe at Neumos

While everyone was freaking out about the Sleep reunion at Musicfest NW, I personally was a little more stoked about a certain legendary punk band who happened to be playing down the street at right about the same time. There was no way in hell I was going to snooze on the Sleep show, but there was also no way in hell I was going to ignore Victoria BC’s NoMeansNo. This meant I split time between the two, and let me tell you the NoMeansNo show was a killer time. The set was not only electrifying but a full tilt storm of brilliant musicianship that honestly made my entire weekend.

NoMeansNo is currently celebrating their 30th year as a band, meaning that its two founding members and biological brothers - bassist extraordinaire Rob Wright and drummer John Wright are now in their mid-50’s. From what I saw a few weeks ago they are showing zero signs of slowing down. Sure they are sporting a little less hair but the energy is still at an all time high. These guys love what they do and really very few do it better. NoMeansNo are truly one of the tightest, influential, and unique punk bands of all time. The first time I heard the song “The Day Everything Became Nothing”, my ears were opened and my life forever changed. This Thursday, NoMeansNo will no doubt bring the house down when they bring their anniversary tour to Neumos. 30 years of pure fucking genius, this show is not to be missed.

Opening the show is Ford Pier as well as Seattle’s own The Ruby Doe, who will be premiering for the first time the scorching new material from their soon to be released 4th studio record, “Getting Ahead in the Music Business”.

It just so happens, SRG has a pair of tickets to giveaway to one lucky winner. All you must do is email your full name to giveaways@seattlerockguy.com by noon Thursday to enter the drawing and potentially join the party.

Don’t be a schlub!

Tickets are also still available and can be purchased through etix via Neumos.com.
