My heads spinning a bit thinking about how awesome this show will be. Although, it's certainly not spinning near as fast as it will during the actual show, but the anticipation is starting the pre-mature revolutions. Wah Wah Exit Wound is an amazing trio and features one of the most amazingly dexterous ax-men in the city, Dave Webb. There's a bit of King Crimson, and certainly jazz and metal influences in their music. They are really a band that must be seen live to fully appreciate. Hypatia Lake, are a vastly underrated veteran psych act who shares members with This Blinding Light. These guys trip out as well as any band in town. Portland's Datura Blues combines psych, acid, and post-rock, and there are horns and creepy organs. I'm stoked to see these guys live for the first time. Headlining are the incomparable Midday Veil, who's debut "Eyes All Around", is still in heavy rotation on my turntable. Midday Veil were recently part of the mind bending live psychedelic music experience that also featured This Blinding Light and Lesbian at the Josephine back in January. Not only did they sound sublimely massive, but gave Lesbian a serious run for their money for trippiest band in the room honors.
