Yesterday Hydra Head Records released a brand new free sampler that just so happens to feature a brand new Helms Alee track called "Elbow Grease". The 1:50 minute track from their forthcoming sophomore release "Weatherhead" is a brief yet sonic blast featuring Hozi's ferious drumming, thick fuzz bass by Dana and that always amazing Verellen guitar work. The street date for the record is still unknown but there is a record release party already booked for June 24th at Neumos. Sponsored by KEXP's "Seek and Destroy", Helms Alee will be joined by Akimbo, Brothers of the Sonic Cloth and one of Portland's finest Norska.

June 24th? The same June 24th Mudhoney is playing the Tractor? I bought a ticket for the Mudhoney show weeks ago. Why do I always have to make these tough choices? Sometimes living in Seattle is hard.

Hey I just saw the Neumos email and it says the Helms Alee show is Wednesday June 29th. I won't have to choose!
